Our syllabus includes over 1,400 academic hours, designed and continuously updated by our academic team – seasoned IT experts with vast training experience. Our comprehensive curriculum is divided into three modules.

Module 1
Applied AI: Workflows & Automation
In Module 1, you will build a solid understanding of modern AI: what it can do, where it fails, and how to work effectively with models, assistants, and agents. Apply this across professional work, data, and multimodal content, then move from using AI to building with it – using coding agents to create simple tools and applications, and connecting AI to external systems through APIs, automation platforms, and agentic workflows.
Module 2
AI Engineering: Enterprise AI Systems
In Module 2, you will experience working inside a company environment with users, applications, identities, permissions, and realistic company data to learn how AI becomes part of large business systems. Learn to direct coding agents systematically – turning a business problem into a clear specification, then supervising, evaluating, and reliably operating the result.
Module 3
AI Consulting: Management & Strategy
Work with a simulated client company, using realistic inputs like stakeholder interviews, process descriptions, requirements, existing systems, policies, and budgets. Learn to identify AI opportunities, assess business value, compare technologies and sourcing approaches, and address governance and regulation, turning individual AI initiatives into an organizational strategy.
A Day in the Life of a Cybersteps Student
You’ll experience an interactive classroom environment with your peers, instructors, and teaching assistants through a combination of live lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative team projects.
No two days are the same, but here’s an example of what a day at Cybersteps can look like:
Your morning begins with a daily opening and 2 live class sessions led by a senior instructor, with a short break in between. We start by reviewing the daily plan, followed by learning new tools, concepts, and technologies through real-time demonstrations and interactive participation. The session also allows you to ask questions and deepen your understanding.

Yes, if you’re eligible. Our AI Weiterbildung is AZAV-certified, so it can be fully funded with a Bildungsgutschein from the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter. The decision is made by your advisor there, but good preparation can increase your chances of approval. To qualify, you typically need to be registered as unemployed or at risk of unemployment and have a registered residence in Germany. Our admissions team helps you with the documents and the application.
No prior technical knowledge is required to join our courses. However, to qualify for financial support through a Bildungsgutschein, you must:
- Have a registered residence in Germany
- Speak German or English at a B1 level or higher
- Be registered as a job seeker

You can take the AI Weiterbildung in English or German. Your admissions advisor will help you find the next cohort in your preferred language. For Bildungsgutschein funding, you need at least B1-level skills in the language you choose.
Generally, university students are not eligible to receive funding through a Bildungsgutschein. No. An Umschulung is a retraining program, usually around two years long, that ends with a recognized vocational qualification (Berufsabschluss). Our program is a Weiterbildung: a shorter, focused training of 3 to 8 months that gives you practical AI skills and industry-recognized certificates for roles like AI Consultant or AI Operations. Both can be funded with a Bildungsgutschein.
A Weiterbildung is a broad term, and programs can be very different across different providers. Bootcamps offer quick 2-3 month AI Weiterbildung programs that provide basic training to enter the field as a junior. Cybersteps offers a comprehensive 3-8-month Weiterbildung program. In addition to foundational training, Cybersteps offers advanced training and specialization, equipping graduates with the skills needed to excel and become stronger candidates for advanced roles. This extended, in-depth approach provides a more solid foundation and better preparation for the job market.
